Guest Speaker
 
Our Guest Speaker this week was Rob Storey talking about his Long Walk Home from Melbourne to Perth raising funds for Neuromuscular WA.
 
Rob walked 3,444 kms in 82 days and raised $67,266 up to this morning (6 August 2026) for Neuromuscular WA. Rob wore out 4 pairs of shoes in training and the walk. Rob also lost 8kgs in training and 18 kgs on the walk. He also mentioned his troubles with blisters on his feet and his ointments and creams used to get by each day.
The fuel for Rob & Louise's Motor home was kindly donated for the whole walk by family owned business of Merkanooka Haulage based in Mingenew WA

2 Minute Noodle
Please remember that 2 minute Noodles are meant to be 2 minutes, not 10 minutes, it is important for the flow of the meeting that they are no longer than 4 minutes maximum please.
 
This week the 10 minute noodle was given by Ian Hutton giving a detailed summary of the 1976 Mandurah Foreshore Restoration.
 
Announcements
 
President Tony was Back from being unwell, Bernie Foley was unwell this week. We had two guests this week being Margaret Simpson and visiting Rotarian Julie Pedlar from Tuggeranong near Canberra.
 
Neil Hancock announced that the Club is still progressing further with the lamington drive for our West Perth fundraising/new member drive.
 
Neil also advised he was hopeful of a meeting with Hancock Prospecting this week with the view to attracting new members
 
Bulletin Editor vacancy from 10 September, our Bulletin Editor & Treasurer Geoff Woods will be away travelling from 10 September to mid-December. 
Can someone please volunteer to prepare the weekly Bulletin in Geoff's absence.
