A wonderful weekend away in Albany

What a wonderful weekend of togetherness  on the 22nd and 23rd May down in beautiful Albany. A group of 20 plus Rotarians and families enjoyed time together, eating, drinking and enjoying each others company and wonderful spoils of Albany and surrounds. And we even got to catch up with old club members in Theo and Adriana Newhouse, which was just delightful.

Thanks must go to Geoff Woods for organising the trip and to everyone who came along to enjoy the ride.

Thursday 20 May 2021 - Guest speaker Gracia Mukiibi

What a joy it was to hear from Gracia  as she shared a short snippet of her phenomenal life story and her fight for human rights and equality. Gracia shared with us some shocking statistics of the oppressions that has, and currently exists in the Democratic Republic of Congo and how she is trying to close the gender gap and enable women's voices in countries like this.

Gracia also shared with us her delightful dolls that  she has created with the hope that her daughters and future generations will grow up understanding that we are all different and that difference is something to be embraced and celebrated.

Gracia was one of nine co-authors to the book "A Mile in our Shoes" which includes the personal stories from all corners of the world, as these women share their global journeys.
