"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

Breakfast Meeting update - Thursday 7th November  -  Bernie Foley and Jodi Harris on Life Education

It was wonderful to hear fellow Rotarian Bernie Foley and Assistant Jodi who provided us with an in depth overview of the current programs and status of Life Education WA. As most are aware, our Club has been supporting the Life Education program for many years and we are proud to be associated with such a valuable and beneficial not for profit organisation, supporting healthy choice education in schools , in particular in the low socio-economic areas of the Perth metro region.

With 3 vans currently on the road, Life Education will get in front of nearly 30,000 children this year and hopefully go a long way to ensuring kids can make more informed choices about their health and mental well being.

Thanks to Tina for volunteering her "insides" for Jodi to demonstrate the operations of Tam-e, the new digital version of Tam. Wow, technology is GREAT! It truly gives the kids a visual and realistic demonstration of the various bodily systems, how they work and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Volunteers for Muscular Dystrophy WA - Sunday 8th December

Muscular Dystrophy WA are again the charity partner of the Carols at Scarborough event on Sunday 8th December. Sooooo… they need some help on event day and would appreciate if our wonderful volunteers (that’s you!) could lend a hand at our last event for this year.

If you are able to help, they require volunteers from 4.30pm to 9pm. Don’t worry if you can’t do that whole time, MDWA can assign roles for shorter sessions as per your availability. Tasks will include selling candles and booklets, collecting donations, selling raffle tickets, manning the VIP area and event tidy and pack up at the end of the night.

MDWA will feed you pizza and you’ll have a great time, enjoying in the festivities of Christmas carolling! If you can volunteer your time, please get in touch with Hayley or you can email Mel. mel@mdwa.org.au
