This week Geoff Hick for his 2 minute noodle on Sleep or lack of and ways to improve your sleep from a book and talk he attended with Dr Nicholas Mabbott PhD. Geoff highly recommends Dr Mabbott's book titled "The Wonders of sleep: Beyond Midnight".

Announcements
 

President Kym & Neil Hancock announced that we will move to a new West Perth venue CU29 on the corner of Outram and Hay Street West Perth from 4th June (opposite Miss Maud on Outram Street). There is plenty of parking on Outram and Hay Street. The price will be $31 each for a buffet cooked breakfast and a coffee and we will be back in West Perth, they will also allow us to have an A frame sign out the front advertising that e now meet at the venue.

Breakfast price rise to $34 from 7 May 2026

President Kym announced that Kailis had advised of a price increase for Breakfast going up $7 per week and reducing the breakfast from Cooked to Continental. Changing to fresh seasonal fruit, muesli, yogurt and pastries.

Next Ethnic Dinner – Chez Pierre, Claremont, Thursday 14 May 2026, there is no breakfast meeting on this day, if you would like to attend please contact Tony Pepper on 0409 685 421 or refer to the flyer above.
 
Pat Emery announced that he had just attended the John Fawcett Foundation AGM previously the Bali Eye Clinic that we as a Club helped John Fawcett found as in 1989. Pat mentioned the success of the Foundation and that they have now performed over 78,000 eye surgeries and screened just under 1.4 million patients, see their website for more information via the link below.
 
Arthur Blaquiere donated another bottle of red wine to the Club that Tony Delich auctioned off to the winning bid of $25 from Geoff Woods.

Guest Speaker
 
The Guest speaker on 7 May was Trish Somers speaking about her Father C P Somers Phil) sculptures which were quite amazing as you can see by the photo's below. Trish was hosted by Pat Emery and thanked on behalf of the Club by Neil Hancock below.

Robs Long Walk Home started April 19
 
Don't forget all proceeds raised by Robs Walk go to Neuromuscular WA formerly Muscular Dystrophy Association of WA.
Rob has currently raised over $40,000 towards Neuromuscular WA on his walk.
